RCSI Bahrain
Bahrain
RCSI stands for Royal College of surgeons in Ireland, and RCSI Bahrain is a constituent university of RCSI in Dublin, focused on education and research to drive positive change in all areas of human health.
RCSI was Founded over 200 years ago in Dublin, Ireland, and has a rich history in delivering healthcare education. We currently have 4 locations worldwide, our founding campus in Dublin, Ireland, our campus in Bahrain, a post graduate office in Dubai, and a campus in Malaysia. And we have over 28,000 alumni working in almost 100 different countries worldwide.
RCSI is a completely healthcare focused university. This means that, unlike universities that offer programs in medicine, engineering, and education, RCSI is completely focused on providing healthcare education. This makes it a focused learning environment. We are also ranked in the top 3% of the Times Higher Education World University World Rankings, which essentially puts us in the top 300 universities in the world.
RCSI has a long history of educating healthcare practitioners from the Middle East, and with so many students traveling to Dublin from the Middle East each year, RCSI looked to establish a leading healthcare institution in the heart of the gulf, so along with the Bahraini Government, RCSI Bahrain was established in 2004.
We currently have 3 academic schools: the school of medicine, the school of nursing and midwifery & the school of postgraduate studies and research.
At any one time, we have over 1500 students enrolled across our 3 programmes comprising of nearly 50 different nationalities, along with 200 full time staff and over 130 part time staff.
Students can apply to us directly; there is no admission test, and therefore, this does not affect any other applications they may be making. Students graduate with a worldwide accredited degree, allowing them to practice anywhere in the world and the PLAB exam (licensing exam for the UK). We support students through our Careers Department with any other licensing exams they are pursuing.
